Mt. Nebo Baptist Church

where church is family and our Father is Lord

Notes from the Pastor

As your pastor, my main concern is to keep everyone safe. Virginia officials have decided to transition to Phase One of easing the restrictions on churches. At this time, Mt. Nebo will not resume traditional church services in May. We will continue to monitor the situation and make informed decisions. Please continue to support the ministry in prayer and we thank you for continued financial support.  We are working on what would be Phase One for Mt. Nebo. We are developing precautionary measures to ensure everyone’s safety once we do reopen.

Video or call into Sunday service following the directions in the announcements tab. All online services and material will be posted here.

Below you can read some facts and guidelines about COVID-19 to ready yourself and here is a Coronavirus memo from Pastor Batts. But above all, we know the Lord is in control so we continue to pray over the situation and keep our faith.

What is Cornavirus?

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness. It spreads from person to person typically through coughs or sneezes. It was first identified in China in 2019. There is currently no vaccine and no specific treatment but symptoms can be relieved with medical attention.

What are the symptoms?

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

Who is at a higher risk?

Older adults and people with serious chronic medical conditions (heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, etc.) are at higher risk of getting very sick from COVID-19.

How can I prevent myself from getting it?

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

  • When soap and water is not available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol

What do I do if I get sick?

  • Stay home and call a doctor

  • Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue then through away the tissue

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched items

If any of our members need help getting supplies or have any necessary resources please contact the church.
